S-7 Reuseable Concrete Anchors

During the reconstruction of a railroad bridge in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Fenton Rigging discovered the concrete pier foundation supporting the structure was sinking into the riverbed. In order to properly construct the new pier foundation, the old foundation needed to be removed. The old structure was split into 10 sections, which had the estimated weight of 15 to 30 thousand pounds each. Because the bottom of the concrete foundation was approximately eight feet below the surface, the contractor needed to lift the sections, out of the water, from the top of the concrete blocks. This was accomplished by using between 2 and 4 Williams 1" S-7 reusable anchors with an embedment depth of 7-1/2" per block. In conjunction with the S-7 anchor a 2" eye nut was placed on the anchor for fastening/lifting purposes.

MAIN REASON THEY CHOSE WILLIAMS:

Fenton Rigging chose Williams S-7 reusable anchors because of the ease of installment, only minutes per anchor, and the ability to reuse the anchor studs, which kept the cost of this unexpected operation to a minimum.
